Fredgy Noël: Writer/Director

Fredgy Noël is an award-winning writer/director based in Manhattan. Noël makes films to help people feel less alone in the world. She focuses on quirky female leads with complicated identities and thinks it’s important to cross cultural lines and tell inclusive stories. She spent her formative years in Haiti, DC, and Miami. She learned English from music videos in the late 80s and started working on video treatments for songs at age 9. In college, she studied English and took classes in black film, the art of the auteur, and linguistics. When she moved to NYC she worked at MTV, VH1, Nickelodeon, and BET--writing and directing short form commercials for each network. That experience led her to writing and directing her first short film, "Milking It" in 2014. Since then, she’s continued to focus on filmmaking and is currently attached to direct 2 short films this year, and the feature version to "Milking It" in 2020. Noël is a featured Free the Work director and involved in other organizations focused on the advancement of women in film and media.

Andrew Crighton: Cinematographer

Andrew is a cinematographer based between New York City and Los Angeles. Although his work has taken him to four continents, he's trying to venture on to the next three. On one such trip overseas he was fortunate to study under the guidance of the late legendary cinematographer Vilmos Zsigmond at the Kodak Cinematography Masterclass in Budapest, Hungary. More recently, he DP’d a short called, “Manila is Full of Men Named Boy,” which premiered in competition at the 2018 Venice Film Festival, played SXSW, won Best U.S. Short at the Palm Springs International Film Festival, and won Best Short at the Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival. He seeks out projects that push the boundaries of conventional cinema, telling stories that illustrate the complexities of our diverse and ever-changing world.

Christine Allen: Producer

Christine Allen is a producer based in New York. She has a BFA in Film and Television from NYU Tisch School of the Arts. She’s worked on several groundbreaking television projects including but not limited to: The revolutionary PBS series, “Finding Your Roots” and “Reconstruction: America After the Civil War”, both hosted by scholar, Henry Louis Gates Jr. (Amistad, 12 Years a Slave), as well as “First in Human,” a Discovery Network series executive produced and narrated by Emmy winning Jim Parsons (The Big Bang Theory). She’s also worked for VH1, MTV, and the Travel Network on a variety of projects.

Sophie Finkelstein: Consulting Producer

Sophie Finkelstein is a screenwriter, producer and photographer from New York City. She has an MFA in Screenwriting from Columbia University and is in development on a number of television series and features. She has a documentary series about a world famous medical examiner and criminal defense attorney that she went through the IFP Labs and IFP Week with and is now in development on the project with Part 2 Pictures and one of the producers of HBO’s THE TALE. She also has narrative project in development with K Period Media (MANCHESTER BY THE SEA, SUSPIRIA) and Dominic Buchanan (END OF THE FUCKING WORLD) based on an article she optioned from a New York Times cover story. Before, during and after her Masters, Sophie worked in various production rolls in the independent film scene. Her first feature as sole producer, THE REVIVAL, premiered at OUTFEST and garnered great critical response, had a great festival run and now is performing well on demand. The same team is about to go into production on their next feature. She also produced Rose Troche’s VR piece, IF NOT LOVE, which premiered at Sundance in 2017 and she was 1st Assistant Director on Madeleine Olnek’s WILD NIGHTS WITH EMILY, starring Molly Shannon, which just came out in theaters. She has also helped run the Hot Springs Documentary Film Festival for the past several years.
